Any human trafficking victim who is in need of protection and sheltering as assessed by the competent authority of municipality or county(city),shall be provided protection and sheltering by the competent authority thereof provide protection such as:
The central competent authority shall issue temporary visiting permit for duration of no more than 6 months to whom been identified as a human trafficking victim and without a valid visiting(or residency)permit. The permit can be extended temporarily if required by the investigation or trial of the case.
After continuous legal stay in the ROC for a period of five years and over 270 days per year, and also fit the conditions listed below, the victim may apply for permanent residency:
After being placed under protection and sheltering, and issues a temporary visiting permit, if leaves the shelter without permission or violates laws or regulations, the competent authority or labor affairs competent authority may revoke his/her temporary visiting permit, and may detain or deport the subject if the violation is deemed to be sufficiently serious.
