On September 5, 2023, around 11 AM, the Jianshan Police Station of the Toufen Precinct within the Miaoli County Police Bureau (MCPB) received a report from a convenience store employee who stated, "There is a lost elderly person in the store, and we request police assistance." The station chief, Rao Dalong, promptly led a team of officers, including Xie Yuxiang, to the scene. Upon their arrival, they discovered an elderly woman who appeared disoriented, sitting inside the convenience store. The officers approached her with care, but the woman had difficulty expressing herself, providing only vague information about living near Jiansha Village and being unable to recall her exact address. To ensure her safety, they used a police car to search the nearby area. With the dedicated efforts of the officers, they successfully escorted the senior citizen back to her home.
During their investigation, the police learned that the 71-year-old woman, surnamed Luo, residing in Jiansha Village, Toufen City, had a mild case of dementia. On the morning of the 5th, she had ventured out with the help of a walker but had forgotten her way back home after reaching a nearby convenience store. Fortunately, the store employees reported the situation, and with the assistance of the police, she was safely returned to her residence. The woman's daughter expressed profound gratitude to the officers for their proactive assistance, thanking them repeatedly.
